The Hamsa, also known as the Hand of Fatima, is a symbol of protection and devine blessing, particularly in Jewish and Islamic cultures. It's believed to ward off the Evil Eye and bring good fortune.
I was inspired by my travels in North Aftrica and India, and the intricate pattern was also inspired by an embroidered pillow given to me by a friend,. This meaningful platter is fashioned in my wood-cut sgraffito technique and hand-painted in with 2 colors. The Hamsa platter makes a wonderful serving dish or a special gift for a friend.
